Aerobic exercise, simply known as Aerobics, is a form of exercise that is designed to improve the body's oxygen consumption. These exercises may also be classified as cadio exercises. 1. Choreographed Aerobics

This is one of the most popular forms of aerobics. It is fun in the sense that the exercise is timed to music. It can be done alone or with a group. Another good thing about choreographed aerobics is that the steps can be changed from session to session or from week to week. This helps keep you body burning the optimum amount of calories.

2. Walking/ Hiking

Some may consider walking and hiking a low-impact type of exercise, but it is still able to do the job and help you burn calories. It can also be the most fun, especially if you are walking and hiking with a friend. It is also a great exercise for those who enjoy nature. A step counter would be a great accessory for those who prefer walking and hiking. Hikers should also consider getting handy GPS trackers so they can track their progress while they hike.

3. Jogging/ Running

Jogging and running can be fun, especially if you listen to music while doing it. This type of aerobics is also one of the most common and one that exercisers find the most fulfilling as a long run can give them a sense of achievement.

When jogging/running or with other cardio exercise, you may benefit from using a GPS device that will help you track the distance you went and your route.

4. Cycling

This is another fun type of aerobic exercise that can be done in the gym or outside. It is fun because it allows you to speed up. Like with walking, hiking, jogging, running and other cardio exercise, you can cycle while listening to music.

5. Swimming

Touted as one of the best cardio exercise because of its multiple muscle use, swimming can also be fun. Often, you don't even have to treat swimming as an 'exercise', but a way for you to relieve stress or have fun. You can swim in a pool near you or in the ocean or a lake. Pools, however, are the best option for people who want to count laps.

Another fun aerobic exercise is Jumping Rope. You can push yourself further by gradually increasing the number of jumps you can finish without stopping.

Lastly, when it comes to cardio exercise, you need to change things up every now and then. You can shift from one type of cardio to another. For example, you could run for a month and then shift to cycling or swimming. The key is to not let your body get used to an exercise too much or it will result in a lesser number of calories burned.
