According to a report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, sporting injuries among adults increased at least 33 percent from 1991-1998. During this period, there were at least 365,000 sporting injuries reported from individuals age 35 to 41. In 2006, the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System reported that 500, 000 sporting injuries were attributed to basketball alone. Two million more were associated with football, cycling, and other sports.



Sporting injuries are an essential part of basically any type of play. The rough and tough associated with sports are what distinguish athletes from mere players.
